What this is
MoKanMesh is a text-based network built by hundreds of average people working together to provide robust, off-grid communication that is secure, encrypted, inexpensive, and open.
It runs on MeshCore, software that runs on ultra-low cost radios ($25) which encrypts messages end to end and can only be read by the recipient. Anyone with compatible hardware can join as a listener, a regular user, or a host extending coverage for everyone else.
Region defaults
Set these on any node before you expect it to talk to the rest of MoKanMesh.
Frequency, bandwidth, and spreading factor have to match exactly. Coding rate can vary per node.

A companion node is a small radio that connects to the mesh, sending and receiving messages.

Repeater
Cover your neighborhood, your block or your county (if it's up high enough!)
A small solar repeater mounted under an eave can cover miles, not blocks. It doesn't need to be tall or visible. Most HOAs never notice one. If you've got a decent line of sight from your roofline, you can probably help fill in the map.

Commands below assume firmware 1.17.1 or newer and, for repeaters, an active remote-admin login in the MeshCore app's Command Line tab.
